Donor 13729

Will this donor have any ICI vials? Is there any way to request a particular type for donors that have one but not the other

Comments

  • Hi Meethelle -

Donor 13729 has completed our donor program and only IUI vials are available. At this point, the only chance of purchasing an ICI vial is if we receive a buyback for a previously purchased ICI vial that has remained in CCB storage.

Our lab washes the majority of specimen due to the high demand of IUI vials. Unfortunately, we can't take requests for a particular specimen type, but if you have a list of donors you are considering, I can check to see if they might have ICI vials released in the future. You can also email me the donor numbers if you prefer.

  • Hello Nicole. You mentioned that donor 13729 has completed the donor program... I know he is new and vials were first available in December. It also says that there have been no reported pregnancies with this donor?!? Is he just not available anymore or was he just pulled as a donor?
    Thx
  • Hi SCT -

Yes, Donor 13729 was first released in December. Since he is a new donor, it is too soon for reported pregnancies.

Most donors are in our program for about a year. It also takes about a year from when a donor starts our program to when his vials are ready for purchase. It's not unusual for a donor to have completed our program by the time his vials are first released on our donor catalog.

  • I'm heartbroken to see that 13729 is sold out. He was The One! It said he was new and he had plenty of vials so I regretfully procrastinated. How will we know if there is a buyback? Do I just keep checking every day with my fingers crossed?
  • Hi Jessica -

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Donors can sell out of vials very quickly because clients routinely purchase 5 or more vials to take advantage of our Family Today/Family Tomorrow program.

You can contact Client Services and ask to be added to the notification list, so that we email you in the event that we receive a buyback.

Unfortunately, the majority of storage clients don't sell back vials until they after they have their first or second child, which could be months or even years later.

If your pregnancy plan is to do IUI cycles, it is probably best for you to choose a different donor, especially if you intend to use that donor throughout your insemination process. On average it takes 3-4 IUI cycles to achieve pregnancy. Our Family Today program provides 1 year of free storage with the purchase of 5 or more vials. This helps secure vials of your donor during your insemination process.

If you need assistance finding a similar donor, please contact Client Services and they will be happy to help you with this.

    Best of luck,

    Nicole

  • While it has been an entire year, I wanted to reach out to Jessicacritters to let her know we are selling 3 vials of donor 13729. If interested, see my post tiled: Donor 13729 vials for sale
  • Hi All, Congrats to everyone on their successes and the strength within! We are users of 13729 and will need additional vials for IUI. Looking to see if anyones family is complete that may allow us to purchase extra vials for this donor they may have. Fingers crossed!! Lots of luck to everyone.
