Hi, I would suggest monitoring your cycle and buying an OPK predictor to follow the patterns of when you ovulate. ALso doing the basal temperture checks every morning. I've been monitoring mine for a a year now, and have a steady idea of when I ovulate. My wife and I have our first IUI tomorrow. Some doctors also prescribe fertility drugs too. Such as clomid, which you take during cycle days 3-7. If you ladies do decide to use OPK kits, I suggest the clear blue digital, very easy to read, it just shows you a smiley face when your ovulating. My Doctor and a few nurses highly suggested it. I wish you both luck =) Baby dust ***
Best of luck!! I recommend the same also depending on your age u may need additional labs and testing , request a AMH n FSH so u can know what your egg quality is. Start prenatal vitamins, watch diet, caffeine and stress level. Hope this helps, as u get closer u will have more question b sure to ask we r a sisterhood. Baby dust being sent your way..
Thanks everyone! I just started monitoring my basal temp and taking pre natals. Our first appt with the fertility clinic is in two weeks, hoping to move forward with this sooner rather than later.
How exciting!!! We actually didn't do anything prior to meeting with the doctor. The office pretty much did all the monitoring for us since we did the IUI in office rather than at home! And we are pregnant with twins!!
We did about 3 or 4 "rounds" of picking donors. We prioritized what was most important first and whichever ones did not meet those criteria, they got cut. Then we went to the next criteria, did more cuts, and just went down the list. We ultimately selected our donor based on a clean medical history and his conversation but we did not purchase those items until we had it narrowed down to 2 or 3 donors.
