iui with injectables

Hello! I had an iui procedure almost a month ago. The 3rd day of my cycle I started clomid for 5 days...I had my ultrasound on cycle day 10 where I had 2 mature follicles on my right ovarie. I was told to trigger that same night (Friday) between 5 & 9pm. I triggered (ovidrel)that night and had the iui 2 days later (Sunday) which would be cycle day 12. I used an opk stick that Saturday & the morning of the iui but there was no surge detected. I found that to be strange since ovidrel is supposed to an ovulation inductor. I'm taking off a cycle to monitor my fertile days & what cycle day I actually ovulate on. By the way I'm using frozen donor sperm. My question is how soon should I have an iui procedure after trigger? Also I'm kinda leery about ovidrel now. What would increase my chances injectables or monitoring when I ovulate on my on.
