  • I'm not there yet as we're doing our second ivf in March! What donor you decide on?
    Fx for you!!
  • Laura,

Thanks!! I chose donor 12874. :) He doesn't have any more vials left. I purchased his last two (I think). He is an oldy, but goody. :) So when you said that it's your second IVF cycle in March, does that mean that you already have a baby from the first one of this is your second attempt? What donor did you decide on? Did you start off doing IVF or did you start with IUIs?

I feel really great about this cycle. Even though I only had one egg retrieved, it fertilized and my MD said it is a text book perfect 8 cell embryo! My beta is on 2/4...can't wait!!

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you too!! Feel free to keep in touch during your cycle. I know how great it is to have someone going through the same thing to talk to. I have made two really great friends through these bulletin boards that I talk to on a daily basis. :)

  • Hi Jennie
The first ivf we used hubby's sperm and I had a misscarriage at 6 weeks. Doc is convinced it's hubby's sperm so we are trying it this second attempt, and our last, with donor. I had 15 eggs fertilized last time and 9 that made it to day five yet they were all slow growers. Hoping to god this time they look a lot better at day five.
Did your doc do the transfer @ 5 days past?
I bet it will work out for you!!! We're doing our transfer first week of April.
  • Laura,

Unfortunately, I'm what they call a poor responder. I'm also turning 39 in a month and have a low AMH. On my last cycle, I only had 4 follicles and my MD retrieved 2 eggs. They were both mature and made it through fertilization. One was 7cell and one was 5cell. This round I had 7 follicles, but only one of them contained and egg. By the grace of God, that one egg was mature and able to fertilize and ended up being a perfect 8cell embryo with no fragmentation. My point is that because I only had one this time and two last time with no frozen embies, they always transfer on day 3 because it's too risky to wait until day 5. I'm feeling really positive about this cycle!!! The embryologist also did assisted hatching which will increase the chances of implantation. This is my last chance so I just pray it works. My insurance doesn't cover any of this so I've already spent $31,500. This was actually my 5th IVF cycle but the first 3, I never made it to a retrieval. Before that I did 3 IUIs.

Well it's good that you know that you can get pregnant. I'm so sorry that you went through the miscarriage. I just can't imagine. Sounds like your doctor is doing the right thing. Which donor are you guys using? March/April will be here before you know it!!! Exciting! I'm counting down the days! One week from today is my beta! Last cycle I did a test almost every day and I'm not doing that to myself this time around. I'm only going to test the morning of my beta, that way I will have an idea of how my day is going to go.

Where do you and hubby live? I'm in Florida. Been here most of my life minus 5 years that I lived in California.

  • We're using 13694.. Ya I have pcos, I went unexplained for 10 years but for some crazy reason don't have low ovarian reserve and make some crazy amount of good eggs on the injectibles meds. Last ivf we should've had some left to do a frozen transfer with but none of them survived the 6th day in which they wait that long to freeze I guess.
It makes sense what your doctor did. Your body is a better incubator than the lab is. I just had my sonohystergram done and results came back clear! So that means it's the green light. I'm very blessed to have such good results for ivf.. And if donor is the worst thing to happen then I'll take that!
Last ivf I knew I was preggo before I took the test but I got a positive 9 days past transfer, so 14dpo really. First sign for me was laying in bed and got almost like an execution shock from my rib area straight down through my pubic area. Next day my boobs and arms were covered in bright blue veins. Test that day was obvious. Lol. Then the nausea started, driving home from work and almost puking on the steering wheel or in grocery store.. Hey now I know what to expect! Lol
Where in nd, originally from WA state. Hubbys a plumber, I'm not working right now since we moved last month and doing ivf soon!
  • Electricution shock, gotta love spell check
  • Woohoo on getting the green light! That's so exciting!! Well today is 5dp3dt or 8dpo. One week until my beta!! I've been feeling pretty good however today I'm having really bad cramping on my left. It's actually making my left leg uncomfortable as well. Weird. My boobs started getting sore today. I am definitely going to bed earlier the past few nights but I wouldn't call it fatigued or exhausted. I hope these are all good signs! I'll keep you posted! ??

  • Awe good luck!!
  • Laura,

I got my BFP!!! I actually tested on Saturay and saw an extremely faint line. Sunday it was maybe slightly darker but I wasn't excited untill this morning when there is an obvious second line!! I was definitelg feeling really tired yesterday so i was thinking it was going to be positive. I am truly in shock!! God is good!! :)

    Baby dust,

    Jennie
  • Awesome!! I just knew it!!!
Just relax :-) when you have your blood test?
  • I'm definitely trying to relax! I can't believe how tired I am. I actually went out at lunch today and bought a Clear Blue Easy just to double check and make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me and sure enough...it said PREGNANT!! ?? I go in on Thursday for my blood draw. Still lots of hurdles, but I'm on my way!!

    Jennie ??
  • How'd your blood draw go today?? That's a good sign that it said pregnant, my hcg never got high enough to show that..so too me that means it is healthy!
  • Hey!! My hcg yesterday was 108!! My nurse said that normally for 4 weeks pregnant, it's usually around 95-100 so I'm looking good!! So excited to finally have it verified!! I'm a happy girl!!! How are you doing?? Hope you have a nice weekend!

    Jennie :)
  • That's good news!!
I'm just getting nervous, our last ivf I didn't get good news and I'm not looking forward to having another miscarriage. I changed my mind a switched donors to a brand new one who looks a lot like hubby.
  • Laura,

I'm sure it's not easy, but try and stay positive!! I feel that helped me get to where I am today after 5 IVF cycles (only 2 all the way through to retrieval/transfer). I'll be praying and crossing my fingers for you!! My first ultrasound is in 6 days! I'm so excited!! I forgot to tell you but my second hcg 4 days later had to be at least 430 and it was 684, so I'm looking good!!
