Medical History - Cousin

Hello,
I am looking at using a donor however I noticed in his profile that a maternal cousin was diagnosed with bipolar in their 20s. My family has a history of depression and anxiety what are the chances that the diagnosis of the donors cousin will actually effect my child if I use this donor. I mean is this a hereditary issue or is it something that doesn't really effect the chances of my child beyond my own family's medical history?

Our genetic counselors review the donor's family medical history as part of our donor screening process. If a donor applicant is considered to have an increased risk for having offspring with birth defects (above the 3 to 4% risk in the general population) he is not eligible to participate in our donor program.
