anxious, excited, need more patience

Hi everyone! I have my first appt. with the RE aka insemination pro on March 5th (the intial consult). Will be starting insemination in June. I am getting so nervous and excited @ the same time. I have no known fertility issues but am still anxious. I've been charting my BBT and cervical fluid for about a year, I ovulate regularly, have fertile fluid for 4-5 days per cycle, and I now have a luteal phase in the normal range, thanks to acupuncture. I'm just freaking out that the doc will think I'm crazy for wanting to do this on my own. Even though they regularly have single women as insemiantion clients! I just have no idea what kinds of questions he's going to ask me. I'm also getting a little impatient waiting for my little guy or girl to be on their way. My younger (23 year old!) cousin is pregnant and on her first try too! I've had the insemination plan for 2 and half years and it's been a little difficult that she made it there first. I just can't wait to be a mom. Do you all have any advice for gaining more patience and calming my nerves? I truly appreciate it! Nicole

  • You need to try to stop thinking about it so much. I recommend go to your local humane society and walk some dogs or play with cats .. something in a totally different environment that is not about you ..but about someone else.
  • Hi Nicole,

You have the same worriness and anxiety that my bro care for me. And don't want me to go the fertility clinic, but do IUI with his friend, a OBGYN specialist.

In my opinion, Don't worry what he will ask you. They don't care what you are feeling b/c they have so many patients to take care of. I only care for my own when I go to the doctor.

I concentrate on what I need to know from him, and doing research by reading information from Google search, then consolidate all information sources together, to have my own strategies. So the bottom line, whatever we planning, we need to understand and sure about why we do it.

We all want to have babies with our whole hearts. However, every woman body is different, so we need to put our mind and effort together in the peaceful way to reach our goal, after one or many tries to do IUI.

I just began this process last 08/08, but did my first IUI on 01/28, now I'm waiting to do the second one coming in the next two weeks.

I spent many times readings a lot of information about IUI, FSH, and all info related to pregancy everynight to learn and prepare myself on this journey which cost me many things- emotional, worriness, and money issues,etc..:).

As you discover the information by yourself ahead of time before meeting the doctor, you will gain confident about why you come there to meet him, and also able to evaluate what he tells you to find the best approach for your own need.
Hope that my advice will bring you some calm and peaceful, and also help to prepare yourself for great challenges and excitements coming..:).

    God Bless Us All
