restrictions??

Hello! I read recently that many cryobanks put a limit on how many pregnancies/live births they allow for each donor in order to prevent too many siblings. Is this something that CCB does? If so, how many?

  • Yes they do. From Scott when I asked this question a few months ago:

Our maximum goal is 25-30 families worldwide per donor. The overall average is closer to about 12 families.

So far for our retired donor we have found 20 families and 27 kids. A lot of us are gearing up for our next child so we are hoping to add 3-5 more kids in the next year. However, most of the women I talk to have only found 1-2 half siblings if any I think ours was definitely out of the norm.
  • Thanks Jala! Good luck with the growing family.

    :-)
