How many IUI's?

For those without fertility issues how many IUI's did it take before becoming pregnant?

  • I don't have any fertility issues and I got pregnant on my first IUI. I m/c @ around 6 weeks and am going for my 3rd IUI Saturday. My RE said it typically takes 3 or 4 IUIs to become pregnant. Its the same average for men and women trying without assistance, just timed cycles.
  • I do not have fertility issues and recently found out I am pregnant on the first try. I am at 5 weeks so far..
  • Hi Summerns,
I am doing my first IUI next Friday. I have no fertility issues either. I am going to my GYN for the insemination. I tracked my ovulation with the predicter kit. Do you have any advice based on your experience when the best time is to do the insemination? In other words, I am set for Friday to do it but, the "smiley face" will probably come on Saturday.
    Thx
  • I have no fertility issues and it took 7 attempts. I didn't get pregnant until after I had an HSG. I'm 34, workout regularly, and on clomid for the past three months. I wish I would have done the HSG sooner. I think I would have had better results.
  • I don't have any fertility issues and it took me 6 IUIs to get pregnant. I'm 33 and healthy. I did clomid and the HCG shot for all of my IUIs. I think it took so long because it happened when it was supposed to. Good Luck and don't give up!
  • Hi, sure. My dr did all the timing stuff. I went on clomid 5 days into my cycle and took it for 5 days. I had an HSG on day 10, then an ultrasound on day 14 to check the viability of the eggs. They looked good, so I was given a trigger shot that afternoon and inseminated the next day within 36 hours of the shot. the ultrasound made the difference to tell if the eggs were ready.

I was surprised how well the dr could time everything out. Good Luck!
