semen release form

Hello,

I'm in a same-sex relationship and I'm having a hard time getting my ob-gyn to sign a semen release form. She said that I should go to a fertility specialist. So I went, but they refuse to sign a semen release for at-home inseminations...only office IUIs or IVFs. It is important to my partner and I to try to conceive our baby as naturally as possible. Are these my only options?

Thank you
Amber

  • Hi Am -

Scheduling a preconception checkup with your OBGYN is usually a good starting point. It's important for your physician to review your medical history, any medications you're taking, and discuss vitamins and supplements with you.

If you've already done that, you may want to look for a nurse practitioner or licensed midwife that would be able to assist you with an at-home insemination.

    Best of luck,
