A question of timing

I had my insemination around 22 hours past HCg trigger and, judging by fertility signs (cervical fluid and position), I am quite sure I ovulated more than 12 hours after my insemination (not more than 24 though).
I have now read on various websites that thawed sperm can only survive 12 hours in your uterus. Is this correct? Did I miss my window if I ovulated after 12 hours??

  • Hi Sasha,

I believe the sperm lasts 3 to 5 days in the uterus the egg only survives 12 to 24 hours after ovulation. I think you had good timing! If you can't get them there at the exact same time you want to get the sperm there first :)
  • Actually fresh sperm lasts 3 to 5 days. From what I have read, frozen sperm that is subsequently thawed lasts from 12 to 24 hours, 12 hours being a conservative estimate. So I think your timing was good as well. :)
