IUI That Didn't Get into My Uterus

Hi Guys,

Starting our second TWW. I had the IUI this morning, but (for various reasons), the insemination took place inside my cervix, not into my uterus.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any success stories, or should we chalk this up to a failed month?

That's called an ICI. Don't consider it failed, as that is a method of insemenation

Did you use washed or unwashed sperm? If you used unwashed - ICI - then you should be fine, like KBT said, as that's what it's for. ICI sperm will cause cramping if inserted into the uterus. If you used washed - IUI - sperm, then I'm not sure how well that will work. It's the seminal fluid and your cervical mucus that help the sperm survive long enough to reach your uterus. What did your doctor say? I've never heard of that happening.
