some women experience cramping. We did Round 1 IUI yesterday. 2.2mill and today 3mil. These sperm count is really low. Crossing fingers at least 1 goes in.
I had mu IUI and now I test on Saturday, but I am having cramps. My emotions are all over the place.
I hope things go good with you. keep us posted.
Good luck. Sending you baby dust.
The waiting period is over for me and I tested negative since Saturday. I want to try again, but I am really getting discouraged. This was my first IUI in 6 years. I have tried between 7-9 times total and I am really an emotional wreck. My wife is very supportive, but my mind is playing tricks on me.
I'm sorry to hear about your Negative.
Don't get discourage it's hard I know. What does the doc say? Have you checked the sperm count? That's our issue. the sperm count is really low. we are not having luck with these vials, in the 9 times we had 2 ok vials that totaled a bit over 12mill, which is when she got pregnant but we lost it at 9weeks. So we know she can get pregnant and the doc said she is a perfect and there's nothing wrong. This round we had a total of 5.2mil which is not much at all for 2 vials. Our doc told us this couple had a hard time, the husband was only producing little sperm and was only able to do an IUI with less than a million sperm and then told the couple to conceive at home. She got pregnant with twins. How about that! all you need is one. So dont get discouraged. Despite our extreme low sperm count, 2.2mil had 90%mobile and the 3mil were about 80% mobility.. so they were moving alot..It's a long long shot but we will see what the Prgesterone level say on Thursday. Dont give us.. it's hard but soon we all have our little bundle of joy.. I hope to hear from you and baby dust to all.
The doctor is very hopeful. She says my body is ready and all of my test have come back very good. My test are actually better than they have ever been. I have tried multiple times over the years, but my response to the medication this time is awsome. I am unsure of the sperm count, but we are going with a different donor this time. I am going to try all of these fertility gimicks. I have accupuncture next Friday because I should have my IUI byt the 17th. I am going to try the pineapple deal and have accupuncture again the day after. Thank you for the encouragement. Our time will come and both of our families will be blested with a new addition. It is great news to hear that couple was able to conceive and you are right it just takes one.
Ask your doc, about the vials. They will tell you.
Def. Change donor if you don't feel he is good.
We tested on sat. I broke. BFN on 10 dpiui. She is due for her period on Wed. 2 more days and we will know if it's BFP or BFN. If this time is a no go, I don't know what my partner would want to do. For sure put another claim, and try one more time before we completely stop with CCB. We bought a total of 17 vials (15 of them being sperm count of less than 5mil) and we still have another 8 vials in storage, chances being crappy sperm count.
We will see..
Baby dust!
So we tested that Saturday and we had a BFN.. I broke on Monday and bought this Clearblue Pregnancy test that not only tells you if you are pregnant but how many weeks you are. So I beg my partner to please pee and let me know so I can stop torturing myself. (Her period was due Wed 12) I told her she pees now it's 97% accurate.. so while we wait for results I'm telling her to try again, she says she doesn't want to, and i'm telling her not to worry, that it's not her, 5million sperm count is really low and it's highly unlikely we get pregnant.. and I look at the stick and it say "PREGNANT" I was in Total Shock and said "this test is broken" SO yesterday she started spotting and we freaked out and tested again and it still says pregnant..the doctor confirmed today with the hormone levels she is and monday we go for round 2 of blood work to make sure it's doubling as it should. I'm super excited. His swimmers are very active.. and you really only need 1 to swim up..
Don't give up or stress.. If it's low sperm and low mobility..change the donor.. If it's a bit low but high mobility it's good too. Good luck and sending you all my baby dust.. and to all the ladies trying to conceive.
Sorry i wrote a lot.
Congrats I am so haapy for the two you you. I am not going to give up. we changed the donor this time and I go in tomorrow to check my ovary. I am also going to do accupunture tomorrow which is exciting. My doctor said I will go in for my IUI on Tuesday so this weekend my WIfe is taking mt to Knottsberry Farm to hang out and take my mind off of things. I am also coaching a adult softball team so I will be busy and not worry so much. Please keep me posted about with the progress.
Baby dust to you!!! Are they giving you meds? Our doc gave her femara and an ovidrel shot for booster, to be shot the day of getting her surge. We knew her :) is on cd 14 in the pm.. She is a clock work. So we went to do iui on the 14 and 15. And that worked for us. I did a lot of research and apps and this made sense to me. I'm sharing it with you, it's up to you ladies if you prefer doing it.
This helped us both times.. But of course it also has to do with sperm count and how mobile they are..
Sorry it's long but worth thinking about.
Doc's made us go the day after :) our surge. For us is cd 15 and 16. Why? Well because your egg drops 24- 48hr after the surge. If you read and google, your most fertile days to conceive is the day of :) to 2 3 days before. Why?
Well when the male deposits the sperm in the cervix (same as Ici at home) well it takes about a day for the sperm to travel from the cervix, past the uterus and into the fellopian tubes to fertilize the egg. By the time the egg is released the sperm will be closer. Fresh sperm last 3 4 days max, to do this long journey. Of course you have a window as every one is different.
Now thawed 'frozen' sperm has a much shorter life span, and distance to travel. They live on average 12-24hr, some say 48. So it's all about having the sperm there right when your body releases the egg. They say you drop the egg '24 to 48 hr' that's true but it depends on the woman. It can be within the first hr. Or the last.
Now..
The test tells you to test with morning pee.. Now on day 14 you pee and you don't have :), so you pee on day 15... But what if you ovulate in the pm? Or afternoon? I told my partner.. To start peeing morning and then in the pm.
A year of tracking her cycle, I knew her period came on day cycle 28 in the early afternoon, around 5 6pm. And for those who are regular, well it's easy.. Now we tested ovulation in the am and after work, around 7pm and of course she ovulated 'big fat' :) on cd14 in the pm.
Now think about this, you only test in the am.. That means you test cd 15. And get :). You call doc and go do iui cd 16 and 17, some do it on 15 thinking that's when they :) but in reality you're losing a 12hr window.
We were iui cd 16 and 17 according to the procedure but for my wife that was 24hrs to 48hrs to late as she ovulates on cd14 around 6pm.
Now thinking all this sperm has a short life and swim, and ur fertile is before of when ur ovulate.. We decided to take that chance and do it that way.. Iui even if she didn't :) in the am.. Because they always do the iui in the am.. We knew she was going to have the :) in the pm so sperm is there.. And in case it dies before the egg releases you have more sperm the following day.
Conception is all about 1 in millions sperm fertilize the egg at the right time. If egg is not ripe enough then it will not happen, if it fertilizes to late, chances the uterus will absorb it and pass it as a period..
So find out when u ovulate this Important :) is it on day cycle 14 15? Am? Pm? Late pm? The closer the window the better it is.
I am not a doc.. I just used my logic with all the information about conception.. I told my wife and tried it that way too.
Best of luck!
Thank you for the information. This is very helpful. We were going to only try one more time if this time does not work and then turn to IVF. I went yesterday for my IUI and I have decided to do my normal routine to not think about it and stress over anything. I am going to try what you have explained if I do not get a positive pregnancy test on 4/1/2014. I appreciate you being very detailed and sharing what worked for the two of you.
Sending you lots and lots of baby dust!!! This time is going to be successful and your family will be complete! I can't believe we are expecting. 5w6d today. Her levels were extremely high, the nursed asked how many follicles she had. We wont know if it's one or multiples until Friday 4th. it's the first Ultrasound.
How are you? How was the Farm? I hope all is well. Keep me posted and i'm sending you all the positive thoughts your way.
I am so happy for your family. Is this your first baby? I have adopted 3 children and we got really good news that the adoption process is moving forward for our three year old. Last year when I was going to start the process we received new our son had a sibling and they placed her with us as well. We will be able to start the adoption process for her in May. I have a cute story to tell. All of our children know we are trying to conceive. My nine year old comes to me the other night kisses my stomach and says now you will finally have a baby come out of your belly. All of my children know they are adopted with exception to the younger ones because they don't under stand. I thought that was so sweet. Thank you for all the positive vibes. I will know by I am supposed to test April 1st, but I think I will wait until 4/3 because I am nervous.
This is our first child. You girls are a blessing! I'm happy to hear your kids have found an amazing home. your 9 year old is adorable. that's something i would love to do as well. Adopt, but here in Florida it's really hard to adopt in a samesex couple. :( I hope the laws will change. We went to NY to get married and at least have the same last name so we can protect our family, if something would happen to one of us. At least our families are very good and accept and loves us. I'm sure god will plan the little seed in you very soon. Just don't give up. I hope to hear from you.
Don't test early! we tested early 1 day makes a big difference. I know its easier said than done.
If you ever one to catch, you can email me.

We are doing well thank you. I test tomorrow and I am nervous. I had cramps all day today. I know I don't know you, but I am so excited for your family. I look forward to the update after the ultra sound. Thank you very much for all your encouraging and the baby dust.
How are you? I hope you are doing well. We have our ultrasound this coming friday. A bit nervous as we haven't been going to doc or anything, it's a bit surreal. I hope all is well. cramps are normal, including spotting and bleeding.I saw your other comment mentioning your period is expected to be on the 6th of april, testing on the 1 and 2 can result in BFN because it's to early to test. That's what happened to us. If it's negative, test again on the 5th or even the 4th. Did you do the progesterone test? It's usually a week after IUI..what was your number?
The family is great. I tested yesterday and it was negative. I will test again tomorrow and pray for a positive result. Knottsberry Farm was great. we had so much fun. I even rode a few rides. The 4th is coming soon. keep me posted on how things are going.
some people dont get a BFP until 3 weeks after their missed period! that's what happened to my friend. we got ours 1 day before the missed period, when last time we had BFP 5 days before.. so it changes a lot for everyone and for every pregnancy! it's very emotional..you know the saying "it's not over until the fat lady sings" well.. we said "it's not a for sure until the fat lady bleeds" little dumb joke we say. You know this time she has less symptoms than last time. No nausea.. just a tad bit on 2 different days, boobs are mainly killing her and huge! (i'm not complaining about that. The only major one was a lot of cramps on and off, but that's due to the uterus expanding and on the 5& 6 weeks she had some mild pink spotting, but that's due to the changes in the embryo turning into fetus. Doc and friend said it's normal..I googled too. Pregnancy is strange..it's alot of different changes. Hang in there as it's a roller coaster of emotions. Sending you lots and lots of baby dust!
How are you? I hope you are doing well. Hang in there, you have 2 more days.. I'm sending you all the baby dust your way.
We just came back from doc. Baby is growing very well..it measured to be 7w1d and she is 7w2 days. that was a relief and the heartbeat was very strong.. we cried when we heard it. We were able to breath. We were so aftraid of getting a bad news like last time..but this time all looks good.
I hope to hear from you.
I am so happy everything is going well. That is a beautiful moment to hear the baby's heart beat. My time will come where I will be able to share my journey. I am going to take a few months off to mentally prepare myself and let my body recover from all of these hormones. I am going to do INVITRO because we believe that is the best plan for us. I am a plus size women with PCOS so I have a goal to lose 30 pounds by the procedure. My doctor's before I met my current doctor always told me I needed to lose weight. Three years ago when I wanted to try IUI that doctor said no he was not going to do the procedure on me because I had not made a change in weight. Even though my current doctor has not said anything about my weight, I have read books and weight plays a factor. Plus I have age and the pcos going against me. The best thing for me to do is work on the thing I can control which is my weight. We are looking to have the procedure done in June. I will still be on the site and I look forward to hearing about how things are going for yall and share what is going on with me. I do have some great news about my 3 years old who had lived with us since she was 9 months. We are in the next phase of the adoption process and we have court on May 8 for my 1 year old to start the next phase in her adoption.
I'm sorry to hear, hang in there you will have your bundle of joy soon and your family will be complete. How is the adoption going? Take a mini break and vacation, it's very emotional and you need to relax your body to try a new procedure that will be successful. I hope to hear from you.
The adoption is moving along for my 3 year old. The termination of rights is the first step and now we wait to sign paperwork. A break is good for me dropping more weight will help. I lost 17 pounds in 6 weeks. I am not giving up.
