skipping cycles

i've tried to get ahold of my dr. for this question , no luck yet...wondering if any of you ladies can help. does skipping cycles lessen your chance of success? my girlfriend and i tried for our first time in october skipped november and can't decide wether or not to try this month with christmas and all...thanks in advance
