DPO45 BFN very strange AF?

Momma K and I decided not to try this month and are actually gonna take a Vegas trip next week, but I have to acknowledge my concern first. We did an IUI last cycle and got a BFN until dpo14 when I started AF (which was strangely on day 28 when usually my cycle is 35 to 40 days) on day 28 of this cycle I tested again (42dpo) and got another BFN. I do not feel pregnant nor do I think I am pregnant or I would not have planned a trip to Sin City (LOL). However, when this AF finally did start to show (maybe day 32?)(CAUTION TMI AHEAD) it was very very light and just like a slight brown discharge. I thought perhaps it was just beginning but I am on day 6 and have seen no more than that (honestly) very faint brown. I have not had to wear any feminine products or anything. This is very unusual for me. I have never had a period like this.
Because of our Vegas trip I'm wondering:
Is it nothing to worry about? Has this happened to anyone else? Or has anyone gotten a BFP after 40 days?
