New here

Just wanted to say hi and introduce ourselves to you guys. Lori and I have just started the IVF process a few weeks ago and are now on BCP's to syncronize our cycle, since it will be my egg and she will be carrying. Just wondering anyone is doing the same thing or could give some advice on the things to come. (or perhaps a dictionary of all the abbreviations im reading..lol...im just glad at this point that i think i got birth control pills right)....

Hello and welcome to the boards! Congratulations on beginning the IVF process and how exciting that it must be that she will be using your eggs! I wish that we could have done that but our insurance don't cover infertility. Anyways, I'm Misty and my partner is Carla and we are 31 weeks pregnant with a little girl from IUI. I posted all of the abbreviations in another post a couple days ago...I'll find it and post it here too.

Good luck and KUP. (keep us posted)

WOW...you spent ALOT of time on those abbreviations...thank you soo much...that helps tremendously when reading everyones posts. Well congratulations to you and yours on your baby girl. I can imagine you two are soooo excited.

Ya our insurance doesnt cover infertility either, so most of the IVF cost is coming out of pocket, but its something that we have both wanted for soo long so it is definitely worth any amount of money.

So how has the pregnancy been for the both of you so far???

oh and thank you again for sending me the abbreviation list....

    I won't lie...I copied and pasted the info...it took me like 20 seconds. :) But, you're welcome.

We're doing great! I've been having high blood pressure issues for several weeks now and I've been working 1/2 days and trying to get plenty of rest. Other than that, I love being pregnant! I'm excited to get to meet Reece, but I'm really going to miss feeling her move in my belly.

May I ask, did you try IUI first or did you go straight to IVF?

There's also another site that I like...I got lots of information from there when I was TTC. It's called twoweekwait.com. Check out their forums.

    Good luck and KUP!

Well thanks for being honest, your better than me I would have taken complete credit for that..

We went straight to IVF, mainly because we already have two boys, that I have from a previous marriage, so Lori was really wanting one that was biologically hers. So basically we decided to do IVF so it would feel like its "our" child since it would be her egg and I would carry.

Thanks for the info on the new site, I will check it out. And take care of little Reece, (love that name btw)

Awe...how old are your boys? They must be alot of fun!

If Carla and I have another baby, I would like for her to carry it, but if she doesn't want to, I would love to carry it with her egg! That way we have one baby from each of us.

Also, I just thought of another website that has a same sex forum...it's babycenter.com. Check it out...there may be some answers for you there.

The boys are older, 10 and 14, they are both equally excited about the thought of having a lil brother or sister. So luckily there isnt any drama with that...sheeewwwww
