Subscription membership

If a paying, subscribed member has purchased donor product, is there a period that the membership can be frozen for a specified time (for medical procedures /insurance reasons), say 30 day increments, so that one does not run out subscription on delays that have nothing to do with site activity and does not require renewing at full price for additional needs?
