13144 pregnancies

Are the genders known of the offspring produced by this donor? Given that his paternal uncle had 4 boys and his father had 2 boys and no girls, I'm guessing slightly more boys than girls with this donor.

  • Hi MyParty -

We do not share the gender of donor offspring.

One of our genetic counselors pointed out that there is a 50% chance of having a girl or boy from every donor regardless of how many male or female children have already been born from a particular donor. That information does not in any way help to predict the likelihood that you will have a child of one gender or another. The sperm sample from any man is composed of 50% of sperm cells with a Y chromosome that would result in the birth of a male child and 50% carry an X chromosome that would result in the birth of a female child.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our Genetics Dept. at 877-743-6384.
