Do you have any data on live births for Donor 13426? Word on the street is that pregnancies from this donor have all been unsuccessful. TIA.

  • Hi Netti -

We don't have any reported births yet for Donor 13426. He only became available about 10 months ago and babies are expected in 2014. We also don't have any reported losses for this donor.

It's important for clients to report their outcomes to us, so if you are in touch with others please encourage them to do so.

    Regards,

  • I have had two losses from this donor (which were reported). Have also heard from others about losses with this donor. I am concerned if this is the case and may need to switch donors.
  • Hi Netti -

It is important to remember that 20-25% of all pregnancies (natural or artificial conception) unfortunately end in a loss. Often times women never even realize they were pregnant. We have more than 5 reported pregnancies (without loss) on this donor, so losses are to be expected.

Losses are almost always the result of an egg, embryo, or uterus issue. The sperm has virtually nothing to do with the pregnancy once conception occurs. The exception is if the sperm carries a chromosomal abnormality. However, our donors are screened for such abnormalities, so any loss is even less likely to be donor related.

In short, you can certainly change donors, but there is no scientific evidence that it should impact your chances of success.

    Best of luck,
