Sperm Mix Up in the News

Recently a sperm bank sent the incorrect vile to a customer who had a child from a donor that she didn't choose. How can Cryobank customers be assured this hasn't happened in their case. Should the IVF clinic be contacted to verify the donor number?

  • Go to the Learning Center link and watch the CCB videos. They explain the several ways of multichecking to make sure this doesn't happen. The other cryobank on the news had no way of multichecking.
  • Hi Texas -

CCB has been in business for over 35 years operating under the direction of our two founding physicians and quality has always been our top priority. As Sweettheartt mentioned, we even have a video that explains our quality control system.

When you place your vial order, you receive an email confirmation with the order details, including your donor number.

We have a stringent quality control system in place and our Cryogenics department does four quality checks by two different technicians cross-referencing our database before the vials are shipped out.

The shipment contains documents which include the client's name, donor number, vial type, color code, donor description, vial date, vial number, etc.

The vial itself has a serial number on it which includes the donor number. Facilities may receive multiple shipments from CCB and some physicians also ask their patients to verify the donor number before insemination.
