Thawing question for CCB staff

We have been inseminating at home using IUI for the last two cycles (our OB comes to our house), but this cycle will be going to our OB's office. She doesn't have a heat block or similar equipment, so we will be doing what we did at home, which was a 98 degree water bath (essentially, body temperature). I just read another post on the bulletin board that said that the water should never be more than room temperature - approximately what would that translate to in degrees? Are we doing okay with 98 degrees or should we alter this for our third try?

I ask also because we recently read some conflicting information online about the best ways to thaw cryo vials. Some say absolutely no water bath. Some say do not turn the vial upside down. Some say to mix by inversion. I know that in the CCB instructions on thawing, it says to use a heat block, or water bath, or if you need to, you can do a rapid thaw in warm water (wondering how that is different from a water bath). We want to be sure we're thawing efficiently for this third try, so would love any feedback you might be able to provide.

Thank you so much!
