First try with 12614

My partner and I went in for our first IUI today with donor 12614.

His counts post wash were:

42.4 million sperm
93% motility

To me these look really good. We go back again tomorrow for a 2nd dose and then the TWW. I kept thinking I would start to feel nervous but so far only SO EXCITED!

Is anyone else using him?

  • I emailed you through facebook.. we are using him too. First try will be end of August first of September.. I am so excited for you! And we are anxious about it too..those are good counts!
  • We also chose donor 12614. Our order came in today and my wife goes in tomorrow for her ultrasound to see how well the clomid worked. Hopefully we shall get insperminated on Saturday!!! We are excited about the counts he produced. We were kind of iffy because he has no pregnancies reported. After seeing your post we are super excited. I hope our vials has counts as good as yours. Did you get the sperm washed at the doctors office? We did the IUI/PREM. Any info you are willing to share would be awesome....WE WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!!!!! KEEP US UPDATED!!!
  • Sorry for the slow response - work has been so hectic this month which I guess is a good thing since the first week is now over and I only have to wait one week more.

Lethasue - I did not see a email from you through facebook but I do remember seeing your name on one of the long comment strings - that is awesome - I am really excited to find others that are planning to use him too.

Lesher - I asked about the no pregnancies and he was just released for sale on June 30th (my bday - I took it as a sign)

I bought the IUI Premium as well so they were prewashed. I had IUI 2 days back to back. His counts on the 2nd day were a little lower but still good.

    22.7 million sperm
    80% motility

Any other questions you have I am happy to answer. Did you buy the pictures? We did if you have not seen them...I am so excited and of course looking at every twinge or cramp I feel and wondering if it is a pre-pregnancy sign lol

melisa96@gmail.com - feel free to contact me directly if you have questions
  • The second counts aren't bad either. From what I understand anything over 10 million is good. The motility is still pretty awesome. We bought the pictures a couple days ago. I wish we would have waited. We added up the two week wait for you and as it turns out, you should find out on our one year anniversary!!! We are scheduled for insemination this Sunday.... I'm hoping for twins. We only bought one vial, but I'm hoping the counts are as good as yours. Please let us know the outcome. I have good feelings with this donor.
  • Oh I am sending good thoughts your way today - Sunday!! I love all the things you think about as you are trying to determine if one is the right one and if it will work - my bday, your anniversary, based on my insem day the actual day of fertilization should have been the anniversary of when my grandmother passed away and she was such a rock for my family - whatever it takes and whatever we need to believe in :)

Let me know how your counts were too. Did you have a medicine protocol or all natural cycle? Mine was all natural and I still managed to grow a 23 mm follicle (lol)...but I am in the home stretch now and really am just ready to find out.
  • Well, the insemination went great. My wife Kayla is having a lot of pressure. The counts were 40.4 million with a 77% motility. Still great counts. The doctor put her on 100mg of Clomid daily for 5 days, then the trigger shot. She had 4 fol. that measured 20, 17, 17, and 15, and her lining measured 6.4 I believe. Now she is wearing an estrogen patch till the end of the two week wait. The doctor says that she would like it to be a 7 although a 6-8 is athe preferred range. I don't know what I'm going to do for the next 2 weeks. Probably just work a lot so time will go by fast.
  • That is great news! I am so happy for you both and to hear that his counts were so good again!! I have 2 more days to survive until my BW on Thursday morning. Will keep you posted for sure!

Oh my cycle was all natural. One follicle at 23 mm and lining was 12 mm. Then my follicle did not collape tho my bloodwork showed I did ovulate so hoping that was a fluke...all I can do is wait And see now
  • uh oh Melisa... if you didn't get my email.. who did! lol.. Well, it is so good to hear there are others using Mr DJ..We are going to be a bit behind you both inseminating around the end of August..last week most likely. So far no medications, but I am guessing that may change the day of the U/S on the day after my surge. omgosh.. you are both in your TWW.. how exciting! Iam throwing baby dust at you both and look forward to two (three) BFP... lets get some siblings started! Lesher.. keep us posted and Melisa.. set the bar girl...
  • and we have the pictures.. if you need em..
  • The tww is killing us. We bought some test just to see when the HCG leaves her system. She had some cramping after the iui, but now she is having sharp pains are in her lower abd. I'm hoping it's a sign for implantation. Melisa you should test tomorrow. You have to let us know how it worked out.
  • Where are you at in your TWW Lesher
  • We are at 5 days today. We should be able to test on Sunday, not this one but the next one.
  • Sweet.. we will be waiting.. stay busy and positive.. ;o)
  • sorry for the delayed response but sadly I got a BFN. I will be trying again in another couple of weeks as I am on CD4 (well as of Sunday). I think it was a timing thing...I am asking my doc about using a trigger shot this time but have not heard back on her thoughts. I started my period 5 days early - crazy because I have been like clockwork with a 29/30 day cycle for years...this time 25 days?? Hoping you both get the BFP on your first try!!! And me on my 2nd :)

Can't wait to hear what happens for you Lesher and Lethasue it looks like we may be trying at the same time this month - very exciting...and others must be using him too since he is listed as "please call" for purchase now.
  • Melisa I noticed that today that he has 'please call' on all his vials.. I wonder who else bought him out.. And yes, now it seems we will be givin it a shot around the same time.. I expect to ovulate around the end of the month based on history. But we all know how that changes in an instant. And Lesher is really close...one more week...
Melisa I remember when Melissa and I were doing ICI's at home, the next month my cycle would be early too, for like three months it kept coming early. Who know, these things work in mysterious ways.. Well, I look forward to the journey and glad we will be in the place.. It is exciting..keep us informed Lesher.. and let me know your dates Melisa and I will let you know too. I havent even started yet, probably around the 14th..so my target is about the 27th ish..lol..
  • That is good to know that you had experienced the early AF too. Right now according to my handy dandy iphone app - I will be headed in on the 18th or 19th for try #2 assuming there is a dominant follicle when I go in on day 10. Will keep you both updated..
  • Well, we had to make hospital run today. Kayla had severe lower abdomen pain that lasted for over an hour. They did a urine and blood test..... it came back neg. I'm not sure if it was to early to check, even though she was supposed to start POAS tomorrow. The ER doctor told us that if she was going to be pregnant it would have shown up in her blood test already. Were trying to keep a small glimmer of hope until AF shows up, but the good lord definitely rained on our parade cause a storm came threw and I had to run in the rain with flood water up to my shins just to get the car. On the brighter side the storm passed over as we were driving home and we saw a rainbow. I don't think were going to give it another go for a while. It's been a pretty hard day, and the emotion involved feels like loosing a child. I guess we got our hopes up to high. I wish both of you the best of luck. Keep in touch.
  • Hi Lesher,

Sorry to hear about your negative. Best of luck when you do decide to start trying again and I will keep updated here with any positives or negatives on my side.

    Melisa
  • Hey Lesher,
It is really a journey that you have to be emotionally strong and ready for. I am so sorry for what you have experienced, I hope you find the strength to continue soon, because the end result is well worth the journey... and we are all on it together, to help each other through the up's and down's.. and there will be a BFP for all of us.. stay strong.. stay positive.. That rainbow you saw had reason.. thinks will look bright again... peace..
  • I mean things, things will look bright again.. lol
  • I mean things.. lol.. things will look bright again..
