process to sell vials back to CCB

I have 3 vials at my RE's office and eventually need to do something with them in a few mos or she will start charging a storage fee.

What is the process to sell back the vials and does CCB charge and send the refridgerated container to the dtrs office?
Thanks.

  • i am pretty sure if they leave ccb they will not buy them back.
  • jala is correct. ccb wont' take them back once they have left the facility. you'd have to find someone else who is looking for that donor or donate them or have them destroyed.

there are several places to try and sell your vials - on here, on ccb sibling registry and on the donorsiblingregistry.com site.

  • Hi Sui -

The posters are correct. CCB can not buy back vials that have left our facility. Here are some details from the web page explainig the program:

•Vials must be purchased and stored at CCB and never leave the premises
•Client account must be in good standing (no outstanding balance due)
•Vials may only be sold back by the original purchaser

You may be able to do a private sale as posted above -- especialy if your donor is sold out. You have a great opportunity to really make someone's day!
