Hi All -

Unfortunately, we don't have any new AA donors coming up any time soon. However, we’ve got two mixed – Japanese/African American and African American/Native American/Creole coming up in the next two months.

We are always looking to recruit more AA donors. For whatever reason, it has always been difficult. We have contacted various organizations at the universtities we recruit at and tried a number of other strategies, but it remains a challange.

Wanted to follow up to this question for any AA donors in the upcoming May 2013 time frame.

Hi Texas -

It looks like we should have 3 mixed African American donors release more vials in May. They are currently sold out but you can still type in their number on the Donor Search page and check out their profiles:

Donor 13077 - African American/Native American
Donor 13186 - African American/Filipino/Spanish
Donor 12922 - African American/Native American/Swedish

If you are interested in any of these donors you can call Client Services and ask to be put on the notification list so we send you an email before the vial release happens.

(The next new African American donor will most likely have his first vial release in July.)

It's possible that additional vials for Donor 13077 might be released in August, but it depends on his next blood draw.

Unfortunately, this donor does not come in very frequently which is why his vial availability is few and far between.

You may want to contact Client Services to be added to the notification list so that you receive an email before his next vial release.

Hi Nikki -

Unfortunately Donor 12929 is retired from our program and will not have any additional vials released.

If you have a pregnancy or embryos with Donor 12929, you may want to call Client Services and ask to be added to his notification list. That way, if we receive any buyback vials we can notify you by email.

If you have an upcoming insemination, it's probably best to start searching for a different donor. Buybacks are not guaranteed and sometimes clients wait for many months. We released a few new African American donors this month, you should check them out.

Has anyone had recent success with an African American donors? I'm new to the program and Inam overwhelmed in making a decision. Not many to choose from and trying to find a donor who resembles my husband. Please help. I am considering 14535 and 13619.
