Donor 13529

I was wondering if Donor 13529 had any successful pregnancies from IUI. I know he has had success but I wondered if it was IVF. The motility rate is around 63-65% and I'm not sure if that is ideal.

We did 6 unmedicated IUIs and now I'm on my 2nd month of Clomid & Ovidrel, so this is the 8th cycle total.

When is it time to switch donors? Are there medical reasons that could be preventing this from taking? I have no fertility issues, my husband has Azoospermia.

  • Hi Leigh -

Donor 13529 has 5 or more reported pregnancies, and yes that includes pregnancies from IUIs.

There is no scientific evidence that indicates switching donors will increase the chance of success. Donor 13529 has been extensively tested(as have all of our donors)for specimen quality and he is fully capable of contributing to a successful pregnancy.

I'm not sure what your total motile count was, but your motility rate seems fine. Published studies show that donor insemination with more than 5 million motile sperm does NOT increase pregnancy rates. The reason that we use 10 million motile sperm as our standard for IUI vials is because it is double the amount you actually need.

If you find a new donor you prefer, there is no reason not to change just for the sake of change, especially if it will help you and your husband stay positive through this experience. Ultimately, it's important to do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

    Best of luck,
