New to this.... Advise?

HI,

My partner and I are going to be beginning to try to start our family next month. Has anyone done it themselves and how long did it take you if so?

Any tips or suggestions? This will be her first pregnancy.

    Congrats! Not sure if you've seen an MD yet but I started by having the fertility clinic do some initial work to make sure things were as normal as possible. Turned out my AMH was low, should be between 3-6 for my age (30) and mine was below 1. So, after I found that out we decided that using Clomid would be beneficial for us. Then I started my cycle a week early, bought the specimen, and hope to do the insemination next week! As long as you are healthy you could complete the process as soon as you'd like. We won't be able to do a home insemination bc MD has to sign for the vile and they do the insemination in the office, but I really don't mind. My partner and I have spent years in health care and I trust the MD we are using. I really hope this info helps, there are so many variations but for us choosing the donor took the longest.     Thanks for your reply. We too are in the medical field and had an MD sign off on it as she is 33 and healthy! I have a daughter myself, so she wants to be the one to carry this one for us.
    We had our first attempt this past Saturday! We did it the eve of her LH surge.. and really hope luck is on our side!
    It didnt take us that long on choosing surprisingly, we wanted one that had my ethnic background so he or she can look like me too ! :D
    Keep me posted how it works out for you.. I'll let you know how ours works in a couple weeks!
