to people who has successful IUI

Hi, I have one question to the people who have succeed with their IUI. I really appreciate any reply and input.

How many years your donor sperms have been frozen? which year was your donor sperms froze?

I just found out the donor sperm I picked was frozen in 1999. 11 years already. I found online that someone had successful IVF with sperms of more than 10 years. How about IUI, which need more motile sperms?

Thanks.

  • I don't know for sure, but I know our donor was new...we were the first one to use him. If I remember correctly, they keep them frozen for 6 months minimum and then do more testing. But, people have had sperm frozen for years and used it and it worked, so I wouldn't count him out just because of that.
  • Thanks for your reply.

I do care about the quality of the donor sperms, because I will move on to do the injectable IUI. The cost for one cycle increases dramatically. I probably can only afford to do two cycles.
