First Time - Summer Insemination, Already Nervous

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to get some perspective from those who have gone through this process already. My partner and I made the decision to try this summer and we are slowly making our way through the process. We decided to go through the IUI the first time around to heighten our chances of success.

Although we are months away, I am excited, fearful, happy and worried. I am curious to hear how others are dealing with the process.

  • It is definitely an experience that brings on so many emotions. You will soon learn that all your life becomes is a waiting game. Exciting at times. Frustrating at times. Scary at times. When the BFP comes though I think it will all be worth it. We are on our second round of doing IUIs. These message boards have been a life saver for me. My wife is too much of an introvert to post, but I have gotten a ton of support through others on here. So feel free to follow the boards and post your worries. We are all in this BIG thing together. And no emotion is a bad emotion. Chances are someone on here is feeling it too.
  • ABarrett,

Our first IUI should be happening by the end of this month! It's scary, exciting, all kinds of emotions. Our first IUI got cancelled due to a problem with one of my kidneys, but I got a ctscan and the Dr. doesn't seem to think it's going to cause a problem.
We chose to do a natural cycle this time, the meds in the last cycle made me feel crappy, so we chose not to use them this time.
I can't wait, but I'm also super nervous. I want to be excited, but I don't want to be crushed if it doesn't take the first time.
We'll see! Good Luck to you!
