Hello. I had a successful pregnancy with donor 13266 and now he has no vials left..is there anyway that he would ever donate again?

  • Hi K -

    Congrats on your pregnancy!

First, please make sure that you officially report your pregnancy. It only takes a couple minutes to call Client Services to report your pregnancy. Also, you should ask them to add you to the donor's notification list so that we can contact you in the event that we receive any buyback vials.

Unfortunately, the process of getting a retired donor to come back for sibling vials is complicated. Donor reactivations are not guaranteed and we only offer this service to clients with a child by a donor when all other options have been exhausted. Reactivations require the donor to go through the entire donor screening process, which can take several months.

Location changes, life changes, and time constraints are just some of the reasons why a former donor cannot participate in a reactivation, even if he wanted to. And the few that can participate in reactivations may not pass the donor screening process. Reactivation is lengthy, expensive, and unreliable which is why we strongly advise clients that want multiple children with the same donor to take advantage of our Family Tomorrow program when they choose their donor.

Here's a link to more info about the reactivation process:
