Help with acronyms?

Hi all - new to forums and getting ready to try our first IUI this month. Can anyone help me out with all the common acronyms used here? I finally figured out TWW = two week wait, but sometimes reading these threads is like reading another language? For example, what's a BETA? Thanks for any help!

  • Hi! I know what you mean, it's like a different language. BETA is the blood work the doctors office will do at the end of the two week wait to see if your pregnant.
    AF=aunt flow (your period)
    RE=reproduction endocrinologist
    There's more that I can't think of now but hopefully someone else will respond and add some others!

    Good luck!!
  • This whole experience is like living in a different world!!

    Hmmm....let me see what I can think of....

    BFP-is Big Fat POSITIVE...what everyone on here wants to hear!! YOU'RE PREGNANT!

    BFN-Big Fat Negative :(

    HPT-Home Pregnancy Test

    BEST of luck to you!!!! Cannot wait to hear your success story!!!!!
