Viability of frozen sperm

Hello,

I am new at this and am anxious to make the right choice. I’m interested in two donors and at this point the deciding factor is the viability of their sperm donation. First question, does the date on the donor’s profile correspond to date in which their sperm was frozen? Second is there a difference in viability of the sperm between vials that were frozen in say 03 vs. 2010?

I’m trying to decide between donors 05592 and 12235. I would really appreciate any helpful information you might have to offer on either donor.

Thank you.

As long as it stays frozen in liquid nitrogen, the amount of time a vial is frozen has no impact on the viability of the sample after thawing. Two years or twenty years are exactly the same.

Keep in mind that the profiles are filled out very early in the qualifying process. The actual date of donation can be 6 months to a year after the profiles are completed.

Both are great choices. 12235 happens to be one of my favorite donors at the moment. He's a really good looking guy, has a great Express Yourself, and a really nice Personal Essay.

    Good luck,
