Any info on 12691 or 12576?

Hi there,
My partner and I are looking for any info out there on 12691 or 12576. We are about to begin the IUI process for the first time and like these two donors BUT they don't have any pregnancies yet. We are a little worried about that as our dr. encouraged us to use donors with previous pregnancies. Thanks in advance for any and all wisdom.

  • Hi! We ordered vials on 12691, but haven't done the IUIs yet...next cycle. From what I can gather, he is really new (after listening to his convo-he mentioned something that happened 2 months ago). I will update if anything happens. I don't know if this helps because it is just a guess on my part. Good luck!
  • thanks audve...we are starting next cycle (January) and are hoping for the best. Good luck to you as well! Please do keep me posted.
  • Which one did you end up picking?
  • We went with 12691! I think he is new to the program for sure and sold out quickly. We go in for 1st IUI at the end of Jan.

How did your IUI turn out?

How did your IUI turn out?
  • Awesome!! I really hope it works out for both of us! The IUI was 12/30 so I still have a few days before we find out. I will update you when we find out.
  • I forgot to mention...when we did the IUI there were 11.4 million motile sperm! I also started another thread titled 12691 with that info on it for anyone else interested in this donor.
  • That is amazing news! I knew 12691 was a good choice! Sending very positive thoughts your way! Please do keep me posted!
  • Also, I was wondering if you are using Clomid and/or trigger shot? I am a little nervous about the whole process as this will be my first time!
    Thanks for sharing!
  • I did not use any meds this time, but I did use a trigger shot (Ovidrel) so they could time it better. I was told if this cycle doesn't work then they wanted me to use Femara and a trigger.

Everything was surprisingly easy! I went on CD10 for an ultrasound to see how big the follicle was and how thick the lining was. Both were appropriate sizes/thickness so I triggered that night and went in 36 hours later for the IUI. One thing I had not heard from others was that I had to call or show up 30 minutes before the procedure so that they knew it was ok to thaw the sperm. They said it was so that I took responsibility for a wasted vial if I didn't show up.

Do you know when in January you will be doing this? I'm really excited for you!

And I think I will test tomorrow, so I will update you! :)
  • Wow, that does sound surprisingly easy! We are going with both Clomid and Ovidrel as that is the procedure our doctor uses. I kindly reference her as the "lesbian inseminator" as many many people I know have gone to her. We live in WI so there is definitely a small town feel but a great clinic. As for our date, AF will be here in 2-3 days so within a couple of weeks we will be inseminating! I am very ready. I think I spend a considerable amount of time thinking baby each day.

I hope your test is positive!!! Baby dust to you!!!
  • Just curious what doctor you are using in WI. We are also in WI and may be missing out on this "lesbian inseminator". Though perhaps we are in different parts. We are in Madison.
  • POSITIVE!!!!

I can't believe it! I had my beta today after a positive hpt and they said I'm definitely pregnant!

    This donor's sperm definitely works!!!

I hope you have the same luck we did. Sounds like your doctor knows how to inseminate :)

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you and checking back for an update!
  • You got pregnant with 12691? My partner and I purchased 6 vials of that donor. I had back to back IUIs done. The first count was good on IUI#1 with 18 million motil sperm. However the second day for IUI#2 there were only 7.5 million motile sperm. My doctor has strongly suggested that we switch donors as the second days counts to him were just not good enough. We haven't done it yet though I was just about to switch to donor 12662. Currently still have 4 vials of 12691.

    Would love your imput!

    Congrats on your pregnancy!
  • Congrats Audve!! i am so excited for you! I wish you the best in your pregnancy!

AEZ--we are in Madison as well and are going through Generations Fertility. I am kindly referring to Terri Michaels. Do you know of this clinic and her?

Good luck to all out there!!! I am hoping for a great experience in a couple of weeks!
  • Thanks srgraham!

omyhinkle1 - Thanks! Yes, I got pregnant with 12691. We only did the single insemination for the IUI with 11.4 million motile. My doctor stressed that on average it takes 3 times for the IUI to work. I think we were just incredibly lucky for it to work the first time. I really wish I had more info to share with you. Good luck with your decision.
  • I forgot to mention...Do you think your doctor would think differently if they knew that this donor now has a pregnancy? There are doctors that urge people to get donors with reported pregnancies (like srgraham mentioned above) so they know the sperm is able to impregnate.

I don't know what I would do in your position. Sorry!
  • Well my partner and I knew it could take time. Our doctor also said he would guess up to three tries. I am 31 and healthy with no issues. We purchased 6 vials of 12691 and had my first IUI last month with a BFN. The first day count was 18 million and we were very happy with that but the next day was only 7.5 million post wash. Our doctor said we should consider switching. I did talk to him on the phone this morning and said there was a positive posted on the boards with 12691 and so he said that it was our choice of course he just was not happy with the counts on the second IUI.

I could stick with 12691 but we may switch to 12662. He has more vials available and we think we need to consider exchanging our 4 vials of 12691 for 12662 and then purchasing more vials since 12691 is sold out. We do want to have two children if possible and would prefer for them to be full siblings. I just didn't anticipate 12691 selling out so fast. It says more may become available but I'm not sure what the chances of that are.

I posted on the thread for 12662 where someone is pregnant with that donor and asked about the sperm counts but no response yet.
  • I understand. Hopefully, the counts for the other donor will be higher.

If this makes a difference, I checked out 12691 recently and he has more vials available now.

I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other, just trying to help :)
  • hey there,
I am 3 days post IUI with 12691! I am feeling positive about the donor--had 16.9 million motile sperm!! please send positive thoughts my way!
  • Hey there i am a couple of days before my 1st IUI with 12691. I send you srgraham the highest postive thoughts. Please keep us posted.
    Sarah
  • I just had my third IUI with donor 12691 (without Femara) and will let you know one week from today :) :) :) I feel so happy and know it will happen the next time if not this cycle. So wonderful to meet all of you and congratulations to audve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I am curious about who ended having children from donor 12691. I have three amazing kiddos with this donor and would love to know who else is out there. Thanks! My email is vanessaowen25@gmail.com
