My partner had a successful pregnancy with our donor and now it is my turn. so far we are not pregnant and are about to run out of our retired donor vials. (if we had known he was going to retire, we would have definitely bought more! I wish CCB would give more information to you in siutations like when you are buying for the sibling program! :-( )
it tears me up to think that we might have to pick a new donor since we were so excited about the prospect of them being even partially biologically related...
does anyone have experience with this? were you able to find more of your donor, or does your second child or work in progress have another donor?
Thanks for thoughts!

This is exactly what just happened to us. In 2008 my partner and I purchased 4 vials of our donor (11209). I became pregnant on the first try with two vials. I gave birth to our beautiful son in October of 2008. We had two vials remaining and when I went to purchase more, as we were always planning on having another child, we sadly found out our donor retired. We were still hopeful that I would get pregnant wsith our two remaining vials but we found out last week that we were unsuccessful and are now out of our donor's vials. We worked with CCB regarding a possible reactivation of our donor but for many reasons he was unable to return. So, my partner and I spent a great deal of time pouring through profiles to have a backup and we chose 11848 and are scheduled to inseminate next week. We too are extremely disappointed that our children will not be biologically identical, as I am planning to carry again (my parnter has no desire to carry :) Anyway, I have had to refocus and accept that it is okay that our kids are not biologically identical and what is meant to be is meant to be. I am still sad but excited about havng another baby for our son to grow up with, biological or not :)
