Using friends as donors

Do anyone have any input or experience using friends they know as a donor who does not want to participate in the child's life? I was wondering what approach works best for asking a friend and not scaring them off.

    Well, I thought about that but there are so many things to think about. There are legal issues that can come up and although they say that they don't want to participate at that point, who knows what they will feel later on. So, on that note...you have to get a lawyer involved and even then, sometimes things can be changed by the courts at a later time.

    Also, think about how the child would feel, knowing that a friend helped you but didn't want to participate in their life. And, would you have to tell the child who the person was, all the while, maintaining a friendship with that person.

    Believe me, I thought about it a ton and had several friends that were willing to do it but after taking to my cousin who is a Family Law Attorney, he changed my mind.
