amnio (need advice)

Hi everyone -

I'm 16 weeks pregnant, 38 yrs old and single. I wanted to know what others have done about the amnio. Any thoughts, advice...would be helpful.

    My dp was 37 when pregnant with our son and our high risk doc highly recommended having the amnio even though all of the tests and ultrasounds looked fine. I was against it but after speaking with a few other moms who have children with disabilities we decided we would like to know what we are getting into before hand. Luckily everything turned out perfect. It was quick and painless and she was relieved to know everything was 100% normal.
