Question about sperm count

I have bought 2 vials of a specific donor sperm. They were shipped together. If the sperm count for the first vial was 23 million. Can I assume the same sperm count for the second vial?

  • I can tell you because I've been thru it 5 times 2 vials each try that sometimes the vials are similar numbers but sometimes they vary a lot. There is no way to tell in advance.
  • Hi M -

There are a number of variables involved so it wouldn't necessarily be the exact same.

Studies have shown that numbers in excess of 5 million motile sperm do not increase the conception rate. Our vials contain at least twice that amount. Our ICI vials are guaranteed to have at least 15 million motile sperm after thawing and our IUI vials are guaranteed to have at least 10 million motile sperm after thawing. These amounts are more than plenty to achieve pregnancy.

    Best of luck!
