Hi Scott,

Could you let me know the reported births/pregnancies for this donor?

Is he a good one?!

I am thinking of using one with o+ blood to match mine - does that matter at all?

    12217 is a great choice and has more than 5 reported pregnancies.

    Blood type is not really an issue. Since you are Rh+, your donor's type doesn't matter at all.

    For the record, if you were Rh- and you chose an Rh+ donor, you would receive a few simple Rhogam shots from your doctor before any procedure (like an amnio, CVS, etc.) and delivery to protect the baby from possible antibodies your body could create. The shots are very common and nothing to worry about. Remember, no one ever chooses a spouse based on blood type, so plenty of women deal with this all the time.

    To be clear -- you can pick a donor with any blood type you want.
