Anyone had success with 11809?

I have just completed my 3rd IUI using donor 11809. I was wondering if anyone has had success using this donor. I am starting to get discouraged, even though my husband is trying to keep up the morale. The first two IUI's I was on 50 mg of clomid and the trigger shot. This 3rd time I was on 100 mg of clomid and the trigger shot.

  • I'm not using donor 11809 but I wanted to wish you good luck! I'm glad you husband is keeping up the morale, try not to get discouraged. I know it's hard though.
I'm going for my 3rd IUI on Tuesday. My first 2 were with 50 mg of clomid and the trigger shot. This time I took femara and will be getting the trigger shot. Did you have your IUI 24 hours after the shot or 36 hours after?

Think positive thoughts and keep me posted!
  • I had my IUI 36 hours after the shot. I think the first IUI we had the timing was too early (13 days) and the last two have been better timed (15 days) for my cycle. These fertility drugs are difficult because the side effects mimic those of early pregnancy....What is femara? When I did all of the required testing everything came back good...My husband has azosperia (Spelling???) which means he lacks the cells to produce sperm...hence the use of donor sperm.
It's very hard not to get discouraged....I will let you know if the third one worked...we still have another week of waiting....
I hope "Third Times a Charm" for you!!!! Best of luck and thanks for the encouragement. Let me know what happens!
  • Hey gingy-
I took my trigger shot at 8pm tonight and am going for my second IUI on Tues at 8am. It seems to be the concensus that it's exactly 36 hrs after. Good luck to you!!!! Oh - and i'm also taking Femara - so we seem to be in the same boat. Keep me posted....
  • I'm officially in the 2ww again!! Third times a charm! I think everything went well. The sample had 9.8 million and motility was 46%. I had one lead follie at 22 mm and a couple of smaller ones. My lining was better this time. I had my IUI 24 hours after the shot. It does seem like more people have it 36 hours after. The nurse told it didn't really make a difference so I just went with it.

SAMac- you are right. It is difficult with the drugs because the side effects do mimic early pregnancy. Femara pretty much does the same thing has clomid but doesn't have as many side effects. Clomid thinned out my lining too much. My husband has azoo too so I know where you are coming from.

shelleykry- how did things go for you today? Is this your first time using femara? Good luck!!
  • Gingy- this is my second time with femara - but first time with the Ovidrel shot. I had two good follicles on Sunday, and when we did the IUI this morning, one was gone and one was still there. She said my lining looked great and the timing seemed great. The donor had 50 mil with great motility... tmc of like 22 mil i think. I feel so positive this time around. Keep me posted on your progress or any symptoms, etc. Good luck! Fingers crossed for us both...
  • I just did my progestrone test yesterday (Monday 8/2)....Just curious what your levels have been....This time (IUI #3) it was 20.39, last time it was 21.21 and the first time it was 12.5. I am not on any progestrone medication. My doctor keeps telling me that my numbers are excellent...but I still don't get it!
  • As far as progestrone levels are concerned...i've never had them done. In fact, i'm not even sure the dr's ever mentioned that to me...so i have no idea what the numbers mean, unfortunately.
  • Hi SAMac - your progesterone level needs to be high to aid implantation of the embryo (it helps to maintain your lining), and I think they like it be over 12 post ovulation - which is why your doctor must be very happy with it being in the 20's. Hopefully this means you will be successful!

Baby dust and good luck to you, and shelleykry too. :)
  • Anyone have any extra vials of 11809? If so, please email wheels0821@yahoo.com
