Sperm Ownership Transfer between two families

Hi,
I am a customer of CC and friends of ours used the same donor sperm from CC. They shipped the sperm out to the RE and returned it back to be stored at CC. Now they are offering to transfer the sperm to us because CC does not carry that sperm donor any more. I called today and was told by your customer service person that this transfer would not be possible? Why does CC not provide this service? Our friends who used Fairfax Cryo were easily able to do just want we want to do. Below is the link and please scroll down to the end read the section about Soft Transfer of Ownership. Why does CC not offer a similar service?

    We offer a non-family transfer of ownership for vials that have remained in CCB storage. Once the vials have left our control, we are unable to confirm the quality and integrity of those vials. While we would love to help you start your family, we are not willing to put you at risk. We have a catalog of over 460 donors and our Client Services team can assist you with donor selection if you'd like to find a similar donor.
