First IUI - donor 13397

Hi all, just did our first IUI on 3/10 with donor 13397. Super excited! I think I bought the last vial of this batch, so I know there are others out there who might have done a cycle too. Would love to hear how you are doing!
Love,

  • We did our first IUI on the 5/9 so I am one day ahead of you. I have decided I hate these two week worth of waiting. How are you doing?
  • I wish you luck. I just bought this donor as well and I will do my first IUI in June.
  • I was 12dpiui and no symptoms and end up with a positive. I still don't have any symptoms. I know it's funny but I wish I has something like boobs hurting or a little sick so I knew it was still there. I go in for an ultrasound on the 10 if June we hope to see a tiny heart beat.
  • How did you ladies do with you first IUI? I had mine today and start my 2ww. Wish me luck!
  • Congratulations numom!!! My 1st iui went really smooth. Back to business as usual afterwards. I did come home and take a nap though. My doctor just told me to start acting like I was pregnant already. ie. not drinking or anything else that a pregnant woman shouldn't do.

    Good luck and God Bless!

Don't know if I'm counting correctly but I'm calling this day 3 after iui.
  • Interesting that you mention not eating or drinking anything pregnant women shouldn't. I have been wondering about that as my doctor didn't say anything. What exactly is on the do not eat or drink list????

I don't want to jeopardize anything at all! :)
  • Not sure guess we're gonna have to research it on the internet. She said no xrays, which I knew about that. We didn't go into details. I know from past experience that you shouldn't eat raw foods or undercooked food esp. sushi. Take Tylenol not ibuprofen. But I'll research it tonight that'll give me something to do to pass the time.

I don't want to jeopardize anything either. I'm wondering if I should have this laptop in my lap...lol.

    I'll post what I find.
  • I looked it up last night and came up with raw, uncooked foods, soft cheeses, lunch meat, fish high in mercury, and a few others. I didn't know about not taking ibuprofen!

I would appreciate knowing what you find!
  • I have asked one of my friends who has had a successful pregnancy, a miscarriage, and is now pregnant again. (All naturally as far as I know) This is what she sent me:

"So here are some things you can't have: lunch meat unless it is steaming, aspartame which is in diet pop and light yogurt and low fat light everything gum etc, stay away from fish, soft cheeses like Brie , sausage, bacon, pepperoni, hot dogs etc., limit exercise or at least pay attention to how you are feeling, oh limit caffeine consumption or eliminate all together! Before getting pregnant take frolic acid and then switch to prenatal vitamin with Dha once pregnant!"
  • Thx nblondheim, I apologize for not posting what I found. I actually feel asleep with the computer in my lap that night. But I found the same info. Saying stay away from deli meats and hot dogs. Well when working full time deli meat is part of my daily lunch and I don't too much care for cold cuts anyway. I usually heat mine up. The same goes for hot dogs. I don't eat them daily but don't know if I can go 9 months without eating them. I boil them so they would be steaming. Not really a fish eater so that should not be a problem. Whew stay away from all that pork would be a hard one but I guess if I want a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby then I need to do what I gotta do.

May be being paranoid but I was a little nauseous a little while ago. Who knows but I'm gonna get the peppermint and crackers ready.

    6 down 8 to go!!!
  • First IUI didn't take so I will start again this week. I get more stressed out about the shots then the two week wait.

Any suggestions from any successful folks that can increase my chances outside of what the doctors do? I question if I ovulated to late but I need to trust the doctors know what they are doing.
  • Same thing here numom

Starting spotting this evening. So back to trying again. I think that I ovulated 3 days after my iui. I didn't use a trigger but I think I will ask for one this time so we can catch the egg.

    God Bless and Baby Dust!!!
  • Second IUI was a success! Hay! I go in Wednesday for more blood work. How is everyone coming along?
  • I was just browsing the boards and saw your bfp numom! Congrats!! How are you?
  • Sorry for the late response but I'm doing well had a beautiful baby girl April 1. She is 9 months and healthy. Thanks for asking. How is it going for you?
