Home insemination kits?

Hi, I am thinking of getting an ICI insemination at home cause I have already spent way to much money on the RE, he's ripping me off unecessary and will continue to do so, so I have decided to stop going to him and just get the insem done at home by myself. I cant afford to spend more money on him or on annother RE.

I wanna know what are some good inseminations kits I can use to do it myself? Where can I buy it? Thanks!

  • Thanks Misty and Carla! Now I have a better idea as of what I'm going to do and how.

Although I wanted to know what is a good way of thawing the frozen sperm in the vial? The article says not to use hot water as that will kill the sperm cells. What about warm water?? what would be a good safe idea? Thanks.
  • I'm not sure, but it seems like I've read about people thawing it under their armpit to get it to body temperature. I would be afraid of getting it too warm and affecting the quality of the sperm.

If I were you, I would make a new post titled something like..."How do you thaw frozen sperm at home" and see what responses you get. There are several people who try from home and I'm sure they get their instructions from their doctors offices.

    Good luck.
  • At my RE the nurse had it in her bra...LOL. I about died laughing.
  • oh yeah, and she said, "let me show you the goods" LOL...I was like, "we're not selling drugs here!!!"
  • go to www.nwcryobank.com they have at home insemination kits which work very well. I would say to thaw put vial in room temp. water for 5mins then roll around in your hands for another 5mins then your ready to go.
