CLOMID

Hello, My doctor told me today that he wanted me to try using Clomid next month. Can anyone share their experience with Clomid and what the side effects were for them? I read online what the possible side effects are but I really want to hear personal side effects or successes with Clomid. Thanks

  • This is my second time taking Clomid at 200mg/day. I truly haven't had a single side effect. I have also used Ovidrel with no side effects. Good luck to you!
  • Hello LSmsw,

Thank You...that makes me feel better.
I will take it next month. Good luck to you too :)
  • The first time I took clomid I had hot flashes and headaches. The effects were mild though. But the second time I didn't really notice any side effects.
  • Hi!! So you are onto clomid, eh? aren't you in the middle of a wait? our 2ww is up tomorrow but we don't have high hopes. K feels like her period is coming on and she didn't ever get a smiley face surge last month.. we waited and tested and nothing so we finally went in for insurance reasons.. we while I think we were 'on time' I don't know if she ovulated but.. it counted for insurance! grr... I think her dr is going to start her on something else this cycle - here goes IUI 5! Good luck with the clomid! let me know how it goes!

  • I did clomid 50 mg for IUI #2 and it just made me really moody, but I didn't notice any other symptoms. I am on day 11 of the two-week wait, so just praying for a BFP when I test on Wednesday!!

    Good luck :)
  • Have any of you had any problems with a thin lining from clomid? My lining was only a 6.5 on day 14 (trigger day.) I just wonder if it's possible to get pregnant with such a thin lining.

tjmoors- only a few more days and you get to test!

    Good luck!
  • I have taken Clomid at different dosages with no side effects at all but my RE says that the main side effect is that it may make you moody. I did have bad side effects from the Ovidrel shot. I won't take it again even though my RE says the chance of a bad reaction twice is unlikely.
  • Hello everyone, Thank you for your feedback. I appreshiate all the responses. Sorry, I havent been on this site since last week. I am not on a 2 week wait. I was supposed to do IUI last week but, my doctor did a folicle scan and he said my folicle got small and then after my blood test he said that I did not ovulate. He said it could have been due to side effects of FEmera (the meds I was on for the last 3 months). So, he said to take 1 month off and next month I will try 4th IUI with Clomid. He said the risk of clomid is thinning of lining and possible miscarriage but Im willing to try it. I have heard many success stories with Clomid. Im excited, but at the same time, it has been an emotional roller coaster. So many doctors appointments, tests and costly. In the end, I hope my my story will be a happy one and I too will be able to say "It was worth it." BUt for now, my wifey and I are waiting until I am able to try again. Best wishes to all of you, and please keep us posted :)
