IUI vials are washed. The seminal fluid is removed and it's a concentrated sample of motile sperm.
ICI vials are unwashed.
If you are doing an IUI at your physician's office, the vial needs to be washed to prevent cramping and infection. You should check with your physician to see which vial type they prefer because some clinics do the washing themselves. We do not suggest re-washing IUI vials.
If you are doing an at-home insemination, ICI vials are the suggested vial type to use because they include the seminal fluid that helps the sperm travel to the uterus.

using and IUI for an ICI procedure?
Yes, it's possible to use IUI vials for an at-home insemination.
Please note that the IUI vials only contain .5mL so it may be a little more difficult for you to prepare the specimen since it's such a small amount of liquid. Also, the IUI vials don't contain the seminal fluid that helps the sperm travel to the uterus. So while it's possible to use the IUI vials, it just isn't the most ideal.
