ID Release vs ID Disclosure

Hi I have some questions about the changes to this policy. What are the changes to this policy now that it's called ID Disclosure instead of ID Release? What was the motivation for making this change? Can you please explain what the policy was before as far as how the information was given and how the contact was facilitated? It seems like it is more than just a name change.

    Good question! It was simply just a name change due to a trademark challenge.

    Just a note for anyone else reading this, there is a difference between Open donors and ID Disclosure donors. Open donors have agreed to one anonymous contact if a donor-conceived adult requests it, while ID Disclosure donors have agreed to allow us to release identifying information to donor-conceived adults that request it.
