1st IUI today 2nd Tomorrow.. Any 2 WW buddies out there...

Hi! I had my 1st IUI this morning having round 2 tomorrow morning, I've been a bit anxious... Any words of wisdom ?? Or 2WW buddies out there??

    Hey! I just had my 1st IUI also today. I'm going back tomorrow for round 2 as well. We'll be 2ww buddies together!

    Menopur... I had four mature follicles... :)

    Good luck, melissamr and december_baby! unfortunately my 2ww ended today with the arrival of AF... on to IVF!

    Thanks Nettibug for the support! So sorry to hear that AF arrived for you today. IVF will be what works for you!

    December - I used Clomid starting on d4 and took it for 5 days. My RE did a trigger shot on Wed and then back to back IUIs Thursday and Today. I had 2 mature follicles. Hopefully we'll both get lucky!

    This is my first attempt with IUI and although i've been keeping busy with work and other activities it is definitely going to be a LONG 2 weeks.. Although the nursing staff told me to take home preg test on Fri June 1...Not sure why so soon..

    I had my first IUI today. Is anybody taking progesterone? I'm nervous about taking it after reading about the side effects.

    My 3rd IUI trying for #2 was Sunday. My DS, age 3 1/2, was diagnosed yesterday with Influenza A. He's been running a fever since Friday evening. So, I've been exposed since Thursday to the flu. His pediatrician said that our flu shots are meant to get us through the winter, not a whole year. So, I am waiting to see if I'm going to get the flu. Makes the TWW interesting, though.

    One week down, one more to go. I have a feeling this week is going to go by slowly. I'm a teacher and I just started my summer vacation, so I have nothing to keep me busy this week and I have a cold. Afraid to take anything just in case I am pregnant.

    december_baby - I hope the test is positive!!
    I hope we all have good news soon.

    Anybody else looking up pregnacy symptoms? I've been feeling cramps on both ovaries. Probably just a side effect from the medication.

    Hey December and Dzamyb - This has been such a long week of waiting! Thank goodness I had a friend in town staying with me this weekend to take my mind off some of the waiting.

    I've been over analyzing ever possible symptom over the last week. At times I've convinced myself that I'm pregnant and at other times I feel perfectly normal and so unpregnant. Google is a dangerous tool - I've been doing way too much googling of symptoms and the pregnancy process.

    One more week to go for all of us!

    Hey guys... I know the 2 WW is horrible, trust me. I didn't think I was pregnant yes GOOGLE is a horrible thing. Just remember PMS and Pregnancy are very very similar. I swore that I was not pregnant, peed on sticks way to early and on day 27 peed on a stick and was like Holy S$$$ batman. Remember if you do pee on a stick, it could be negative, I have talked to a lot of woman who have had negative pregnancy tests and Lo and behold they were pregnant. I am now almost 17 weeks pregnant and some times still in shock. Good luck to all.

    I will go for my first IUI this month. I thought I would go for it on this cycle (would of been today), but they said my follicle didn't mature enough only to 17mm (on Saturday) and estradiol was rising but not enough. Then on the re-visit yesterday this follicle ruptured and my estradiol was not enoug. I knew in my heart and from the signs that I had already ovulated. I had EWCM and Mittleschmerzc

    Rightfully, so they would rather wait for the next cycle and not waste a vial of sperm. They recommend that I be on Ovridel and clomid to mature the follicles on the next cycle and ensure that I can be pregnant. Anyone had this combination? I'm not looking forward to the side effects. I was hoping for the acupuncture method, but I'm willing to do anything to make it happen for a one shot deal.

    Well I got my visitor this morning a day early with cramps... Which I never get..could the meds be causing the cramping? I'm disappointed, but also have faith that now was just not the right time...

    AF arrived this morning for me. Don't know what I'll do now. My RE said that this was my last shot for an IUI. She wants to go on to IVF, but I'm not sure if I can afford to emotionally or financially.

    So Sorry Amy. It is a draining feeling, and am at a cross roads too with going the IVF route. What I can say is to have faith and hope. I went and talked to an RE about IVF, knowledge is power.He is all about using your own eggs before donor egg, which was encouraging. Today am doing some research on costs in my area, next week I will go get a more detailed 1 on 1 plan of action and go from there. Are you on face book i am a newbie so am still trying to figure it out it is a good suppport system to.

    Went in for my 2ww blood test today. It came back positive - I can hardly believe it BFP! I think I'm in shock...

    I'm so sorry December and Amy. I bet the next try will work.

    Congratulations, melissamr! So glad to sign on to great news!

    amy - so sorry, it's always a horrible day when AF arrives. I can't speak to the financial (my insurance covers 80%) but emotionally I feel so much more solid with IVF just because the chances are so much better and it is so much more controlled than the shot in the dark IUI's.

    hope - we need to get you more active on FB to get you in the CCB group. are any of your real life friends on there? or work friends? only people in the ccb group see your posts in the group.

    Yay Melissa, I'm so happy for you. Well I took a home pregnacy test today and it came back positive!! I was so sure it was going to be negative. I was so shocked to see the positive sign. I couldn't believe it. I'm still in shock. I haven't even called my mom and sister yet. I told them I would take a pregnancy test tomorrow, so they aren't expecting any news yet. Trying to figure out if I should just blurt it out or come up with a more fun way to tell them.

    I guess now I have to wait until Monday and call my regular gyno dr. to get a blood test. I forgot to ask the fertility dr. what I do if the HPT comes back positive.

    Thanks for the support Nettibug and Metsfan! Nettibug, when is your IVF scheduled for?

    Dzamyb - Congratulations! I'm so excited for you too! I haven't told my mom yet either. My mom is coming into town next weekend for a visit, so I'm hoping that I can hold off telling her until she is here, but it is going to be hard waiting. Have you thought of a fun way to tell your mom and sister?

    My RE's having me come back in on Wednesday for another blood test to continue to look at my HCG and Pogesteron levels to make sure that they are doubling as they should.

    melissamr - my retrieval will be the week of the 25th, with transfer 3-6 days after that depending on how the embies look. had my training for meds yesterday - it's a lot of shots!

    congrats melissa and dzamyb!! you'll be in shock for a while....i am 9 weeks and still can't believe it!
    amy, after this last IUI i had planned to move on to ivf. emotionally i figured it would be "easier" because it's much more controlled than iui's. financially is just something you know whether you can do or not. ask your doctor if they offer financing through themselves or another company (if you are comfortable with that). or maybe they can do things in steps to spread out the costs? egg retrieval for now and fertilization a bit later?
    just some thoughts.

    Melissamr I am using 12695 on my IVF hopefully at end of July when I have a week off work.

    Netti sending boat loads of baby dust your way. Am on face book and still figuring it out, I need a tutorial lol.
    How are you doing today, how many shots you doing a day
    I have a meeting with my RE next Wednesday.

    Amy, I was doing some reading up this weekend and found out about Mini-IVF which is a little cheaper than IVF, as you are on less meds, not all RE offer it, hope yours does and offers some financial relief.
