Trigger Shot Timing

My current clinic’s protocol is to do IUI 12 hours after trigger shot with frozen sperm. I convinced them last cycle to let me do 24 hrs between trigger and IUI although it was still unsuccessful. I keep reading that thawed sperm only lives 12 to 24hrs in the uterus so I’m afraid even with the 24 hr trigger I am missing the window of sperm viability. Can you help me understand? Thanks
