in Single Mothers by Choice
My specimen has been delivered, meds received and have my initial ultrasound scheduled! I'm so excited and scared at the same time! This will be my first try with IUI so just looking for others experiences with it? Any successes on the first try? I've been doing acupuncture for about 3 weeks so in hoping that ups my odds! Thanks for any info!

    Hi Jen. I just order my meds and vials too. My u/s is scheduled for this saturday and hopefully the IUI will be on Monday. It's my first attempt and I'm like you, excited, nervous, scared all at the same time. Crazy! I have an acupuncture appt scheduled this week and maybe more to follow. Fingers crossed for both of us.

    Super excited to see this post !!! My sperm has been purchased :) he's on ice waiting for me lol . I'm about to do an ultrasound right now and then start my meds! My first IUI AS well! I picked 13029!!! I'm nervous but I have waited a long time to be a mama.. Single mom by choice :)

    Hi ladies welcome to the club had my first Sat/Sun. Excited, nervous, scared and other emotions I can't describe. Fri is my progesterone test then following Fri, PT. I see some folks test their trigger out but I chose not to take that route. I am going to wait to the dr appt .

    This is soooo great! Glad to be going through this with others who are single moms by choice!!! Can't wait to hear about everyone's experience and I will keep positive thoughts for us all!

    So excited for you! Hope the u/s goes well. It would be great to have someone to go through the tww with. I will definitely post updates too.

    U/S went well! Everything is as it should be :) I start my meds tonight and go back Saturday for blood work and another U/S!

    Blood work and ultrasound today! Looks like I have 6 follicles 3 of which will probably be appropriate for my IUI! I will continue on my meds at the same dose and go back Tuesday for more blood work and an ultrasound :) hoping Friday will be the big day!

    Hey Jen! Had my u/s today. One follicle about 19.6mm with a couple of smaller ones. Not ideal, but it only takes one right? ;) trigger tomorrow night and IUI scheduled for Tuesday. Eeek! Is this your first IUI? it is for me. I started acupuncture last week and will continue to go. Sounds like it can really help. Wish I had read about that sooner. Oh well. Keeping positive thoughts for everyone! Please keep me updated. MzzSteph had her's done the other day as well as KBT, so it looks like there will be quite a few of us first timers doing the tww around the same time.

    My progesterone level came back at 10, dr thought that was fine but would like to see it a little higher so I am taking progesterone nightly. 7 days until THE test, I'm probably not going to make it with out taking a HPT, so I am thinking about testing on Wed/Thur.

    Sf13-you are right it only takes one! Considering how many sperm there are the odds are in your favor!! It is my first IUI as well and I love acupuncture! Fortunately I knew about it due to other friends with fertility issues. Keeping positive thoughts for everyone and look forward to hearing how things go on Tuesday!

    KBT- Glad to hear the tww is half way over! Will definitely be sending positive energy your way!

    Well, just finished with my first IUI. TWW here I come. :) it was so anticlimactic. All I have to say is let the baby making begin! Good luck to everyone.

    Good Luck Sf13!!! I went for another u/s today and will I back tomorrow! I have one follicle at a little over 17 and a few others that are close to that :) they asked that I bring my HCG shot just in case! So hopefully Friday will be my big day! Sending lots of positive vibes your way!

    So I went ui yesterday to buy my test for Wed/Thur. Guess what,....I couldn't take the pressure if it being in the house so I had to POAS. (BFN ). I will say it's still early, I will test tomorrow am and then Thurs am. although I would have preferred a +, it gives me the chance to process and prepare for my appt on Fri if I don't get a different result

    KBT- Good Luck on Friday! I don't think I would be able to take the pressure either! Positive thoughts heading your way :)

    I had another u/s today and have 3 follicles that are 20 or just about 20! I received my trigger shot and will be going in tomorrow for my IUI.....holy crap! My uterus looks good and ready according to the Physician Assistant so hopefully things will go as planned! But I'm def dreading the tww!

    My IUI went well today! I took the day off work to just relax and rest. I know it's not necessary but I figured why not :) I start progesterone suppositories on Saturday and go back for my blood test on June 12th! I'm officially in the TWW!

    Jenn- Congrats. Good for you taking it easy today. The easy part is done and now it's time for the hard part...waiting! Sending baby dust your way. I'm hoping for the best for all of us. Just out of curiosity, are you continuing to do acupuncture? If so, how often do you go?

    Thanks!! Baby dust to you both as well!

    I have been doing the acupuncture for about a month and actually went for a session today. I go once a week and she recommends continuing until the 12th week of pregnancy :) it's really relaxing as crazy as it may sound with needles sticking out of you but I usually nap for the 20-30 mins during treatment!

    I'm so glad we are able to connect and communicate about our journeys on this forum! Please keep the updates coming and I'll def do the same!
