HCG Trigger shot

I'm 10 days post HCG trigger (is there an acronym for that?). Should I still be having VERY sore breasts/nipples? Had my first IUI on 10/15 so it's too soon to test.

  • You can definately still be feeling s/e's from HCG trigger shot. It can take up to 14 days (sometimes longer) to exit your system. Coupled with any other fertility drugs, the soreness is to be expected. Or...you could be pregnant. I have done 3 rounds (2 clomid, 1 femara) and been pregnant twice. Sadly, I lost my first baby to miscarriage and second baby to ectopic pregnancy. The cycle I was not pregnant I thought for sure I was because I was nauseated, I had sore breasts, I was emotional, and I felt the same way as when I was pregnant the first time. Try to relax and if I were you I would hold of on taking a HPT until at least 20 days post IUI to ensure 1) trigger is out of your system and 2) your body has built up enough HCG to give you a (+) HPT. Good luck.
  • Thank you for the response. Turns out that the HCG played a cruel joke on me and tricked my body into thinking it was prego. I had prego symptoms all the way up until AF arrived on exactly 14dpIUI. I'm currently on my 2nd IUI cycle. Thanks again.
