Vial Purchase and Storage

I was wondering if it is possible to buy 1 vial at a time and store it. I am not planning to start IVF until August 2017, but would like to start purchasing vials now so it isn't so much to come up with all at once. Is that possible, also how many vials would I need approx to try ivf for 2 siblings? Thank you!

    If you'd like to use the same donor for two children, you need to purchase all vials at the same time. Our donors sell out of vials very quickly and you'll see our Bulletin Board and Facebook page are full of posts from clients seeking vials for a sibling.     First, I would check with your physician to see if they have any specific instructions on what type of vial to order and how many. Some clinics only ask for 1 vial for an IVF cycle, while others require 2. Some IVF cycles may produce enough healthy embryos to freeze some for sibling use. But sometimes, multiple IVF cycles are needed just for one birth.

    We understand the level of uncertainty involved in this process and offer a 50% buyback option for vials kept in CCB storage. When you have a donor conceived child and/or embryos from that donor, it provides peace of mind to know that you also have vials of your donor in storage, just in case it's needed.

    While it's possible to purchase one vial at a time, if the donor is sold out when you are ready to purchase the second vial, then you have to go through the donor selection process again and there is an additional fee to exchange the vial in storage so that you have two vials of the same donor. These costs can add up over time and sometimes it's more economical to do our Family Today program which provides one year of free storage with the purchase of 5 or more vials.
