  • @Pig83 Yes, any type of vial can be used for an IVF procedure. Some clinics may have a preference if the vial is washed (IUI) or unwashed (ICI), but they would be able to prepare either for IVF.

  • hello, I had one ivf vial storaged at my drs clinic from previous unsuccessful ivf process, i want to know if i can use it for IUI?

  • @uncommongirl Our IVF vials contain a much lower amount of sperm than our IUI vials. There wouldn't be any harm in using the IVF vial for an IUI procedure, but your physician probably wants at least 2-5 million motile sperm for your IUI procedure and the IVF vial is likely to have less than that.

Sometimes clients will use multiple IVF vials for 1 IUI procedure. I would recommend speaking to your physician about it. (If you don't want to waste the vial and aren't worried about the cost of the IUI procedure, you may decide that it's worth a chance.)
