My wife and I are thinking about using donor 13600. Just wondering if anyone has used him before? We are new to this and are just starting the process. We are hoping to do our first cycle in January. Any info to help would be great!!!

it was positive!
i almost done believe it.
i will be going into the clinic to be sure - in the time frame they tell me to - but i wanted to let you know.
this was the first iui i have done with this donor (and ever).
keeping my fingers crossed that all works out well.
good luck to you in january
ps - week is looking up :)
i will check back in after our appointment.
My wife and I went in and talked to the specialist - I did blood work and began tracking my cycle. I was supposed have an HSG because of the surgery I had in 2010 for a rather large ovarian cyst, but they were overbooked each month I could do it and I felt it was getting in the way of trying. I talked to my wife and we decided to try without it. The IUI was rather uneventful (not like the trip to get the sperm) I have never been pregnant before so my cervix was rather tight (plus I was two days after ovulation instead of one because we had to get the sperm) so the doctor had to open my cervix (used a tenaculum to hold it in place and helped to open the cervical passage with a sound – that was not fun but was just like cramps). We didn’t have an ultrasound or use any fertility medications. I got pregnant on the first cycle (but I am very early). My doctor didn’t think we needed to take medications until it was proven we needed to take them – we were ok with this because we don’t like the over medicalization of the body in general.
My sister on the other hand used one fertility medication then the other (I forget the names) and she had the HCG shots before IUI. Her doctor put her on medications right away because she felt the process was too expensive not to “stack the deck.” My sister and her wife are more trusting of the medical professions ability to control outcomes with drugs so they didn’t question it. She had an ultrasound with IUI so they could target the proper tube and on her final round they did back to back injections one at 24 hours and one at 48 hours of ovulation. On the third try she got pregnant with twins (born this June). One of her friends did the HCG shots only and I don’t know if they had the ultrasound or how many times she tried but she and her wife have a beautiful 3 year old.
I think it worked out nicely that my wife and I didn’t end up with my sister’s doctor because I think the whole thing could have been a fight. I know that there are no guarantees because I am still very early so who knows what will happen and we may end up needing to try again. If that is the case I would try again just the same as I did this round – if I needed to do more than that I would consider taking medicine (because it is not cheap to get sperm as you know)
The hardest thing is the 2 week waiting period - I overanalyzed everything I was feeling and it drove me crazy. I had residual cramping (not painful) from the sound and tenaculum it felt like there was a whole city of craziness going on in my uterus (cramps, twinges, pings, all kinds of feelings). Also, maybe because of my utero-centric metal state, I was an insane person. I am not kidding - I am not normally irrational or quick to anger, but starting 3 days after IUI until maybe day 10, I was pretty close to crazy. I wanted to punch everyone in the face for the stupidest reasons (not literally punch them but that kind of rage was totally inside me and I hated it - I had to take several solo walks while at work so I didn’t blow up at anyone.) Near the end of the two weeks I calmed down (and the cramping/twinges subsided) and I was sure that I wasn’t pregnant. I was getting all my normal signs of getting my period (boobs hurting, legs hurting, feeling heavy and tired) – I was disappointed and let my wife know that we were going to probably have to try again and maybe I would do the HSG in November. Then the next day I took a test (on day 13) it was positive (I took the test because I wasn’t getting the spotting that I normally get – instead I has a very normal white discharge that was more noticeable than usual).
We haven’t told our friends and family so I may have given you more information than you wanted because I’m so excited to talk to anyone about it!
Good luck to you – I hope this was helpful.

How many vials would you recommend?
Any help or advice would be great! Thanks!!
My fiance and I used 13600 with this IUI. This will be our second IUI, I'm currently 5 dpIUI. Last month was so terrible for us, we had used a different donor, so hearing all of these positives is so encouraging! I havent taken any meds and had an u/s prior to the IUI, I had 2 follicles, so that's a plus! I'll keep checking back for updates!
stacy
Baby dust to you all!
